Company history
Independence-Community Access Network, Inc (I-CAN, Inc) was started in 2006 by Dr. Janice Renk Ed.D., BCBA. The mission of I-CAN is to help persons with disabilities achieve a more independent life using the supports available. The I-CAN staff have a shared goal of increasing the independence of those with whom we work so that they, in return, can live the most enriched life possible. Our team of behavior analysts, behavior assistants, direct care providers and supported employment/living specialists share the philosopy and mission statement of the company. The I-CAN agency is staffed with professionals and para-professionals who have received a substantial amount of training in the facilitation of skills for those with developmental disabilities. This training is typically provided with a behavior analytic overlay. Knowing that independence for those with certain disabilities can not be achieved through free standing Behavior Analysis alone, Dr. Renk expanded the company to include tutoring of persons with autism, supportive employment and supported living, personal care and companion services. In addition, I-CAN behavior staff are trained and certified in Professional Crisis Management (PCM). |
