Tools for Positive Behavior Change

This course was designed to provide instruction to parents, caregivers and group home staff on the basics of positive behavior change, based on Applied Behavior Analysis Techniques.  This training offers parents and other caregivers training on solutions for day to day situations that come up with both typically developing children and individuals with behavioral concerns. Prevention is the focus of all training provided by I-CAN staff.

30 Hour Behavior Assistant Course

In  order to work as a behavior assistant, behavior group home staff, or a behavior tutor this course is a necessity. Strict guidelines have been put in place to ensure that those working with individuals with certain behavioral concerns have been provided with instructions on basic behavioral management. Our Course, which includes a pre-test and post-test to participants meets criterion for these guidelines. Oversight by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst is necessary for all programs designed and/or implemented for individuals with behavioral concerns. Two classes make up the 30 hour Behavior Assistant Course, Tools for Positive Behavior Change and Interaction with Adults with Developmental Disabilities. The basics of rules governing behavior analysis services, best practices and the Rights of Adults with Developmental Disabilities are included in this course.
